Getting ready.....

We are preparing to meet Doug and Mandy in Hawaii on Wednesday. Very long flight day but know it will be great when we arrive! Looking forward to the beautiful weather paired with relaxation and all the beauty around us. So glad that Doug and Mandy are already enjoying and having a wonderful time. Check it all out for us and we'll be ready to see some sights and just relax on the beach! Dee Dee Barfield, glad you are reading and sharing along with us. hey guys!!! we're here, we're finally here!!! yesterday was a LONG day, but we finally made it in about 8:30 hawaiian time last night. anita picked us up at the airport and greeted us with beautiful leis and then we came back to her house for some quick dinner and to change clothes before going over to her friends' house to celebrate new year's eve. interesting hawaiian tradition...lots and lots of fireworks on new year's!!! it was so loud and so fun!!! apparantly it is a chinese tradition to ring in the new year with 1000 fireworks to scare away the bad spirits---doug and i weren't sure if it was fourth of july or new year's. :) we are going to drive around some today and anita is going to show us some of the beaches on the north side of the island and i think we are going to hike something that i can't remember the name of, but it sounded really neat. the weather is being a little tricky this morning so it could interfere with our plans, but it is supposed to clear up later today. we love you all and hope everyone had a great new year's and we will try to call when we can.
